Stags leap4/11/2023 ![]() Winemaker Michael Silacci joined the winery in 1995, and together with assistant winemaker Julia Winiarski is producing outstandingly complex, multi layered wines that are amongst the very finest in California. Warren coined the descriptive phrase 'iron fist in a velvet glove' to describe his polished but sturdy Cabernets. Cask 23, the proprietary red wine blend made only in select vintages, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Stag's Leap vineyard and the Fay Vineyards. In 1986 Warren Winiarski purchased the adjoining Fay Vineyard which, in what is known today as the Stag's Leap District Appellation, which had been planted by Nathan Fay in 1961. Success was instantaneous when the 1973 vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon took first place over leading red Bordeaux at a major comparative tasting in Paris in 1976. He learnt his trade at Robert Mondavi before setting up Stag's Leap Wine Cellars in the heart of the Napa Valley in 1972. Considered one of the first growths of Napa Valley, Stags Leap Wine Cellars produces renowned Cabernet Sauvignon from its historic Stags Leap District. The experience was concepted, designed and built by Annex88 and Havas New York for Treasury Wine Estates, leveraging 8th Wall’s web AR platform. Watch art and technology meld to create a truly unique and boundary-pushing immersive experience. With surprises sprinkled throughout, the contrast of the worlds symbolizes the stag’s adventurous and embracing nature as it travels to an unfamiliar destination, taking consumers on an interactive journey. Along the journey, the stag stops and waits at checkpoints which act as interactive hotspots which invite the consumer to participate in the experience. Cellar this powerhouse for up to 5 years, or enjoy tonight with rare steaks, roast beef or lamb. Layered and complex, this wine features aromas and flavours of chocolate, dried black plum, licorice and woodsmoke. In world three, the unknown, the explorative nature of the campaign is unleashed when the stag enters a world beyond its own designed by Nick Liefhebber: colorful, clean, graphic, and playful. Stags Leap Winery is more than a deer crossing. In the second world, designed by Rezonate, the elements come to life through sculptural techniques with added depth, while still staying true to the black-and-white label in monochromatic fashion. World one, designed by Joanna Lisowiez, depicts the stag’s initial leap into a fantastical universe in a scratchboard style inspired by the label. ![]() Three artists created three worlds for the stag to explore, each in a unique style. Stags Leap grew quickly to fame thanks to the now famous Judgement of Paris in 1976 - when the 1973 Stags Leap Wine Cellars. The soil of the region is loam and clay sediments, along with volcanic deposits. ![]() The AVA is 2700 acres with 1200 acres of planted land. Inspired by Stags’ Leap Winery’s iconic stag logo, the experience pays homage to the animal’s roots as a natural explorer that cannot be confined. Stags Leap District AVA was established in 1989. Once the image target is triggered, a 360-degree panorama emerges from the iconic stag logo and a leaping stag appears to guide users on the journey through the different worlds. Featuring single-family homes starting in the 600's with a variety of floor plans to choose from including first floor Owner's Suites, single level, and two-level homes. From there, they are asked to point their mobile camera at the Stags’ Leap wine label to bring the bottle to life. Stags Leap community located in the heart of Hanover will be a community of maintenance free living, a relaxing pool, and 30 lot opportunities. To access this 360-degree journey, consumers scan a QR code found on the Stags’ Leap website, social media accounts or in-store displays which brings them to the campaign website. The experience features an animation of the stag running through three different illustrated worlds which can all be explored in web-based augmented reality.
