Parkdale hardware4/8/2023 This place is old school and a lot of the products on the shelves look to be at least 5 years old. They didn’t have it and they told me that Ikea was probably the only place I could find such bulbs, which is not true and would have been very inconvenient for me had I not known better. One time, however, I went in hoping to replace a fairly conventional halogen lightbulb for a desk lamp. They always keep treats behind the counter for dogs and whenever I walk by with my dog she strains toward the doorway in anticipation of a snausage. helping me choose bolts, hinges, etc that work with the tools, materials, and ideas I had. Recently, they set me up with all the bits and pieces I needed to build a cold frame. The folks who work here are very friendly and knowledgeable. so I only go here when I’m in a pinch or I want to treat myself to an over-priced hardware product and excellent customer service. The prices there (and at every Home Hardware I’ve ever been to) are nearly double the price that I can source the products for elsewhere. I love supporting local business (although its a chain) but I usually bike to Canadian Tire for my odds n ends/light bulbs/handy things because they can be pretty cheap there. Something tells me the folks who frequent this place do so out of necessity, simple convenience, or happen-stance. 100 years from now I sincerely doubt people will be walking by and be caught up in the old design of the early 2000s.Haha, first to review. Originally it was called Elm grove House and built in 1909.Great window designs! Finally, after an afternoon of walking and admiring the architecture of old Parkdale, I came through the underpass, back into my neighborhood, noticing what now fronts onto Queen St. The Rhino is a bar with an excellent beer selection and great patio, although the service can sometimes be lacking. Again no history but what greatly designed corner windows. I could not find any information about this place but you have to love the steeple. This well-kept, very clean looking building was the Sterling Bank of Canada back in 1906. Notice the interesting design in the brick work and for whatever reason, the heads of a ram and cow. Small, it is keeping its heritage alive as originally it was Parkdale Hardware. The Home Hardware store is very interesting in its design. This building is not a heritage building but look at the windows, especially the round one. This building was originally built for MacMillan Storage Company Moving and Storage in 1892. I was stopped for the red light and noticed the great doorways, especially the rounded one on the right. It sits at the stoplight at the end of Brock on the south side of Queen. Search Shopping & Stores local businesses located in Mount Hood Parkdale, OR to get the products and services you want and need. Find in Mount Hood Parkdale, Oregon Hardware Stores businesses. This is really the building that gave me the idea to do this. The SIC code for these Mount Hood Parkdale local businesses is: 5251. Parkdale starts at the old and recently redone railway underpass at Queen and Dufferin. I found 2 helpful websites to help identify some of these buildings and their original owners, TOBuilt and the City of Toronto Heritage Properties. So with such a beautiful afternoon happening, I decided it was time to grab my camera and try to capture some of those great old buildings on film. Many times I have been stopped or parked on Queen Street West in Parkdale and have noticed how interesting an old run down building really is. OK, I am the first to admit that I know very little about architecture but I am starting to appreciate it more and more.
